Hi, My name is Jodie Gray Eller, designer and owner of Jodie Gray Interiors. Interior design has always been my passion and dream career. When I was younger I didn’t think it was a realistic career choice so I obtained a degree in medical coding and did inpatient coding for 11 years. Time I should have spent working I would spend scrolling Pinterest or planning and decorating my home or my friends’ homes. So, I decided to chase my dream and never dread Mondays again! I enrolled at the New York Institute of Art and Design and opened Jodie Gray Interiors.

I’ve always loved to decorate and have spent years increasing that to whole home room design. Even at a young age my favorite channel was HGTV. I can remember when I was 15 I wanted to redecorate my room so I painted horizontal stripes on my bedroom wall… and it was awful! I’ve never been afraid to take risks and luckily for me it’s paid off. My design style has really grown since then. I’ve spent a lot of time refining my style and learning new skills.

I grew up watching my Dad be a do-it-yourself kind of guy so when I bought my first home in 2016 I decided to do updates myself! I learned to change faucets and light fixtures, built an island and dining table, and so much more. I relocated from Greenville, N.C. to Boone in 2019 with my daughter, Hannah, and then life brought us to Wilkesboro in 2020. Since moving in to our home I have designed and redesigned every room. I’ve done multiple types of batten walls. Painted and repainted. Built a cabinet and refrigerator surround, replaced the bathroom countertop, and the list goes on.

I would describe my style as transitional, which is a mixture of traditional and modern décor. I mix old in with new and create a space that’s classic comfort with a modern feel. I like to incorporate natural elements and layers of texture. Every detail in a room matters to me. Your home should be functional, beautiful, comfortable, and timeless!
