Yes, you read that right. Hiring an interior designer saves you money. Building, remodeling, and furnishing can be pretty pricey. But, what’s pricier is installing new tile or having you home exterior painted and hating the results. Then you’re paying twice…and possibly for the removal of the original. Or ordering the wrong sofa or rug size and have to pay a shipping and/or restocking fee. Also, as designers we can get some pretty good discounts. And we often share with our clients. Plus, as designers we appreciate quality items so money spent will be money well spent. A designer is not going to put cheap furniture in your home you’ll have to replace in 2 years. So, yes, you have an extra bill with a designer, but you will make up for it elsewhere!

When you hire a designer you’re paying for our knowledge and experience. This is not our first rodeo! We have designed multiple homes. They’ve see what can go wrong and right! Things need to be done in a certain order and in a certain way to look right- especially during a remodel. No one wants to drop loads of time and money into their new build or remodel to have it look “off” or “just not right”. What a kick in the gut. Hiring a designer will save you from this pain. Most people are not experienced in designing, building, or remodeling. So let a designer guide you through it. This mean WAY less stress on you!

Your project will move quicker

There are so many decisions that go in to design. Will this tile go with this counter top? Will this paint color go with the sofa? Do these light fixtures go together? What color should the faucet be? And if you don’t know what to do it can be paralyzing! You spend hours searching the internet and Pinterest for you answers or asking your friends for their advice. Either way, its time consuming! Not having these answers will stall construction. Can’t have the electrician install lights if you can’t pick any. Can’t have the shower tiled if you don’t know what tile to choose. And the last thing you want is to make a quick decision that isn’t right and you have to look at it every day.

Hiring a designer is hiring a professional. This is what we do, it’s what we’re good at! Yes we live in a time where you can get on Pinterest or Instagram and shop peoples’ homes. But, just because it looks good in theirs DOES NOT mean it will look good in yours! And then, where is the personalization? A home should reflect you. It should serve you. Don’t we all want a home that is both beautiful and functional? The influencer on instagram doesn’t know that you need a performance fabric because have a toddler who likes to eat cookies on your sofa after nap time, or that you love to have dinner parties and need comfortable seating for 12 people. Making a house a home comes with personalization and customization. Your home should spark joy. It should be your haven. And, can you really put a price on that?
